DIVINE MYSTERIES

Section IV
8. Seven Fohats
"The Primordial Seven, the first seven Breaths of the Dragon of Wisdom, produce in their turn from their Holy Circumgyrating Breaths the Fiery Whirlwind."  (Stanzas of Dzyan, V, 1)
A special entity, Fohat, is “the Fiery Whirlwind.”  Fohat is another cosmic character described by Blavatsky and assigned a most significant role in the physics and metaphysics of creation. Fohat serves to link the seven primary realms of spiritual being to the seven secondary realms of material creation. The role of Fohat is most important to understand in order to relate physical to metaphysical laws, and material to spiritual dimensions of being.  Blavatsky explains the role of Fohat:
"The “Manifested Universe” (is) pervaded by duality (of Spirit and Matter), which is, as it were, the very essence of its EX-istence as “manifestation.” But just as the opposite poles of subject and object, spirit and matter, are but aspects of the One Unity in which they are synthesized, so, in the manifested Universe, there is “that” which links spirit to matter, subject to object.
"This something, at present unknown to Western speculation, is called by the occultists Fohat. It is the “bridge” by which the “Ideas” existing in the “Divine Thought” are impressed on Cosmic Substance as the “laws of Nature.” Fohat is thus the dynamic energy of Cosmic Ideation; ... the intelligent medium, the guiding power of all manifestation, the “Thought Divine” transmitted and made manifest .... Thus from Spirit, or Cosmic Ideation, comes our consciousness; from Cosmic Substance the several vehicles in which that consciousness is individualized and attains to self–or reflective-consciousness; while Fohat, in its various manifestations, is the mysterious link between Mind and Matter, the animating principle electrifying every atom into life." (p.16)
Blavatsky explains Fohat in terms of the principle of Cosmic Electricity, the energetic and vivifying principle in relationship to the Cosmic Spirit (the intelligence principle) and the Cosmic Matter (the material principle). The relationships described are from the seven Luminous Sons (spirit), through the seven-fold Fohat (soul) into the sevenfold robes of the Parent Space (as primordial matter). Blavatsky explains:
“Matter is a vehicle for the manifestation of soul on this plane of existence, and soul is the vehicle on a higher plane for the manifestation of spirit, and these three are symbolized by Life, which pervades them all.” (p. 49)
Any created Son, an individual microcosm or a four dimensional space-time continuum of a macrocosm, emerges out of the triune and sevenfold supersensous dimensional of apparent Non-Being at the beginning of time. At the end of time, all Sons (from Universes, to Monads and atoms) will eventually resolve back into the same metaphysical dimensions of Being and Non-Being. The Eternal Parent Space and the Eternal Ceaseless Breath give birth in this way to an infinite number of Sons or created Cosmoses throughout Eternity. All things–all living things from Sons, to Monads and atoms–are in fact rooted throughout Cosmic Manifestation (Manvantara) into the Unity, Triunity and Sevenfold nature of the Divine Essence(s). These are the hidden dimensions of nomenal Being which sustain manifest creation.  The Gods and other invisible powers clothe themselves in bodies founded upon zero point centers.
