| Mystical teachings describe deep isomorphic relationships existing
between the cosmos of consciousness and the cosmos of the Universe. The
individual divine/spiritual spark, or quantum of consciousness, and the
Cosmos or Universe, are created by the same principles and rooted into
the same hidden inner dimensions. Both are ultimately rooted
into the perfect symmetry of the Absolute Being/Non-Being, the void/plenum;
both are informed by the same metaphysical principles; both emerge
as zero-point singularities from beyond the level of material differentiation;
both emerge out of an Eternal Parent Space, or hyperspace; both manifest
from within/without, and will eventually withdraw without/within; and,
both manifest within triune and sevenfold multidimensional structures through
a hierarchy of broken symmetries. Most importantly, both are sustained
by “one indivisible and absolute Omniscience and Intelligence ... (which)
thrills through every ... infinitesimal point of the whole finite Cosmos”
- as explained by Blavatsky.
The central idea in the modern holographic paradigm is that any point, or part, reflects the whole. Hence, any point on a holographic plate embodies an image of the whole object photographed. Mystical teachings take this notion to the extreme and suggest literally that wo/man has a deep interrelationship to the larger Universe, and to God. An ancient Upanishad stated that within the "lotus of the heart" is such space containing or reflecting the whole of the larger Universe: “Even so large as the Universe outside is the Universe within the lotus of the heart. ... Whatever is in the macrocosm is in this microcosm also. ... All things that exist ... are in the city of Brahman (God).” (Chandogya Upanishad) Similarly, in modern science, David Bohm's model of wholeness suggests that to understand any individual quantum particle ultimately implicates the larger Universe. Everything is interrelated, all aspects of the One. |
| The interrelationships of the part to the Whole do not
exist in the external four dimensional space-time, but within the subtle
or implicate dimensions of being, and ultimately in the Unity of the root
principles of Creation. As above, so below; the laws are everywhere
the same. Human consciousness can dissolve into the root principles
of its origin, and so expand to embrace the Universe, and to know God!
A mystical account of holography suggests missing links between the practical methods used to create holographs and the hidden nature of the Self. Modern holographers have a paradigm but no coherent light to illuminate it - no point source of light to project the experiences of our lives. Recall Dr. Pribram stating that his theory was not meant to imply that there are any "laser beams in the brain,. Instead, Pribram considers that the neurological circuitry of the brain acts as a referent beam within the holographic brain. In contrast, occult or mystical perspectives suggest that there is a zero-point foundation of pure coherent supernal light which is enthroned within the Heart of a human being. This quantum of consciousness, the spiritual or divine spark, provides the point of coherent light which illuminates the varied activities of the mind, brain and body. This point source of “supernal light” originates from a realm of “unified light” within the divine realm of being. Further, the mystical Heart Centre of a human being establishes a deep relationship to the Sun, the Heart of the Solar System, and to the Heart of all Being. The self-luminous Self establishes the referent beam for the projection of the dimensions of our lives - our physical lives, and the afterlife existence. A mystical holography suggests that the holographs of our lives do not simply occur within the head, but are seated on the foundation of the zero-point laya centre of the Heart. Four dimensional space-time is itself somehow “squeezed out” of this supernal point. The Heart is enlivened and illuminated by the pure coherent light energies of the Self and the Spiritual Intelligences which inform material creation from within/without. Mystical views provide a most productive orientation towards elaborating the holographic mechanism of the Self. Unfortunately, the holographers in modern psychology have forgotten the spiritual or divine element, the God spark, the quantum of consciousness, the zero point source of coherent light emerging from within the metaphysical dimension of the heart. This is such a point of light which could implicate the whole and allow for the synthesis of psychological views with physical/metaphysical theories. |
| It is most important to understand that this spiritual/divine
spark, or quantum of consciousness, does not exist in four-dimensional
space-time as such, nor does it exist within the body. In fact, on
the contrary, the mind/body exists within the spiritual spark. The
spiritual Spark exists within the "real space", which is the Eternal Parent
Space or hyperspace. The body-mind exists in the projected and illusory
space of the four large dimensions. To take the body as real, and
to dismiss the spirit or soul, is like taking a projected holographic image
as existing in and of itself, as being substantial, and as having
no underlying causes or hidden nature. Recall Prabhupada compared
the scientists’ study of the body/mind to studying a person’s clothes,
thinking that these are the real individual.
The God spark is rooted into higher dimensional spaces, hyperspace, the frequency domain, the Great Space of Merrell-Wolff, the Eternal Parent Space of Blavatsky, the womb of Nuit for Crowley, the En Soph of the Kabbalist. Higher dimensional Space is the void/plenum of the occultist. If we penetrate to the heart of matter, or the heart of the Self, we pass into the higher multidimensional Eternal Parent Space and the void/plenum - a unified realm containing information and intelligence embodied throughout the Cosmos. Hence, we are all potentially “the mind at large”, or, “the Universe at large” as we are all rooted into the Absolute. Recall that the holographic model of the brain initially proposed by Pribram became 'mystical' when it was combined with the ideas of David Bohm concerning the interrelatedness of quanta within the implicate orders, the superimplicate orders, and the vacuum/plenum. This suggested that the holographic mind might have access to a very deep "frequency domain" indeed, connecting it to the larger universe, and not simply a frequency domain connecting it to other neurological circuitry in the brain. Within the frequency domain, as Pribram explained, time and space are collapsed and everything is happening simultaneously. The mind and the doors of perception act as a lens to focus a particular reality out of the underlying frequency domain. From a mystical perspective, the underlying frequency domain is more primary and real than the impermanent and illusory projections of the mind. |
Madame Blavatsky depicts these hidden dimensional
spaces and the inter-penetration of different world-orders. Her description
gives a sense of life in the plenum of Deep Space:
. . . the Doctrine refuses . . . to use the words "above" and “below,” "higher" and "lower", in reference to invisible spheres, as being without meaning. . . . the Occultist does not locate these spheres either outside or inside the Earth, as the theologians and the poets do; for their location is nowhere in the space known to, and conceived by, the profane. They are, as it were, blended with our world - interpenetrating it and interpenetrated by it. There are millions and millions of worlds .... Although as invisible as if they were millions of miles beyond our solar system, they are yet with us, near us, within our own world, as objective and material to their respective inhabitants as ours is to us. The inhabitants of these worlds, may be, for all we know, or feel, passing through and around us as if through empty space, their very habitations and countries being interblended with ours, though not disturbing our vision, because we have not yet the faculties necessary for discerning them." (The Secret Doctrine, 1888, pp 604-5) The ordinary concept of space is far from that of the occultist. Consider for example, the idea that the Self is related to the Sun. Ordinarily this would sound ridiculous, because we are material beings living on planet earth, and the sun is a burning mass of hydrogen and helium approximately 94 million miles away in external space-time. Even light takes between 7 to 8 minutes to travel between the Earth and the Sun, and nothing can travel faster than the speed of light, or so we think. |
| However, mystic Aivahov proclaims: "... man's higher
self, his divine self, already lives in the Sun without (the man) knowing
it, because he can only see with the brain, his consciousness is limited
to the material world." (1977, p. 41) From a mystical perspective,
the Sun is only apparently removed from us, but in reality, it is within
ourselves - as an inward dimension of the cosmos of consciousness.
Nor is that part of us within the Sun, 94 million miles away.
The Self is within ourselves, as is the Sun, the moon and all the stars,
and innumerable other world orders. Space, real Space, is a plenum,
and the Self is rooted within this Deep Space. If this is so, then
Aivahov is correct in stating that, "... scientists haven't begun to study
the real man."
It is immensely difficult to fathom the depths of occult views. How could millions of things, and beings, and worlds, be around us, and in us, sustaining and interpenetrating our worlds? To understand these possibilities and mystical doctrines requires a radical transformation in our consciousness, and in our understanding of all things - time, space, matter, energy, fullness and emptiness, myself and “I.” In material science, we study only the surface of life, and do not begin to penetrate the greater depths within the dimensions of subtle being and non-being. Mystical views of the origin and nature of human consciousness offer a profound alternative paradigm for attempting to comprehend the mysteries of Space and higher dimensions. Another major application of mystical teachings has to do with understanding the multi-dimensionality of life and creation. Occultists describe an inner circulation of light occurring within the deep levels of the psyche, in the cosmos of consciousness. It is this circulation of light which establishes the broader basis for conscious experience of the varied dimensions or planes of being. In fact, all of creation is maintained by the circulation of "supernal light" through varied planes of being. This occurs within the quantum, and within the larger Universe, as well as within human beings. This is the basis for the projection of the Holographic Self and the Holographic Universe. In the beginning, God said, To understand such ideas we would have to understand what light is, and what ‘supernal light’ might be. The fundamental cosmic laws described by occultists provide ways of differentiating the multi-dimensional structure of the universe, while depicting this circulation of light. Recall M. Nicoll’s simple description: "God is first One, then three, then seven." In exactly this way, esoteric teachings depict a form of pure supernal light reflected through triune forces (or pillars, or modes of nature) which act as a prism to produce a spectrum of seven colours. The mystical teachings of the "fundamental cosmic laws" -- the law of three and the law of seven - provide a heuristic for understanding the inner light dynamics of the microcosm and the macrocosm. The dualistic thinking of modern science needs to be replaced by a framework of triunities, and sevenfold and/or octave structures, which are far more appropriate to understanding the possible dynamics of the inner circulation of light. The properties of the division of light through a 3 sided prism into 7 colours illustrate these ancient metaphysical ideas about the dimensionality of existence, and such patterns are said to be evident upon all the different interpenetrating dimensions of being. In relationship to the cosmos of consciousness, the Unified point of Light Consciousness within the Heart is said to be distributed through three major channels and seven major Centres (chakras) within the subtle dimensions of human beings. This is an "inner circulation of light" - of subtle energies, intelligence and matter which interpenetrates and sustains the physical and subtle bodies. These seven centres are related to the seven bodies, and all of these are related to the sevenfold dimensionality of the larger universe.
These triune and sevenfold patterns of existence are described as even
pre-existent in non-existence! The Triune Godhead and the Seven Skinned
Eternal Parent Space give rise to the three modes of nature and the Seven
Luminous Sons, the spiritual intelligences which fashion form from formlessness.
The form generated is triune and sevenfold throughout, and these patterns
are repeated. We live in a seven dimensional universe, of consciousness,
force and form - both within and without, with 7 x 7 or 49 planes of Being,
all interpenetrating and sustaining one another. It is only the maya,
the cosmic illusion, the holographic projection, which appears to be governed
by dualistic principles.
In summary: A 1 emerges out of the 0, and is reflected in accord with the laws of 3 and 7 through a hierarchy of broken symmetries, to become entangled in all the complex dimensions of life and afterlife existence. In the holographic paradigm, the inner cosmos of consciousness mirrors the larger Universal structures and divine realities. Certainly, these are the most fascinating possibilities, which rather than being invalidated by developments of modern sciences, are actually congruent with the newest model of a holographic of consciousness in a holographic universe, and with modern views of creation and physics. |
The holographic paradigm could use a point source
of coherent light, and a study of light dynamics and ancient metaphysics
in order to provide a viable model of the depths of human consciousness.
Recall Margaret Wertheim’s descriptions of Grosseteste’s metaphysics of
light, which she describes as a mathematico-Christian cosmology:
